Zinnia Yellow Beret with floating pleated crinoline flowers in yellow

The Zinnia beret is a piece that was designed and created for the Hattember Millinery Competition.  The theme was Beyond the Bloom and the challenge was to create a piece from a pack of material provided. 

I designed the piece to celebrate a bright and light feel to the floral theme and trend.  The pleated crinoline grows out from the centre of the braid-wrapped buds to replicate the layered petals and line outside the beautiful Zinnia flower.

Pieces are handcrafted in the Lauren J Ritchie studio in the Manchester Unity Building in the heart of Melbourne on Collins Street. Hats and headpieces for race days and special occasions can be shipped across the globe.
