Zonta Wangaratta International Women's Day Breakfast

I had the honour to be invited to speak at the Zonta Wangaratta International Women's Day Breakfast

The event is in its 18 year and brings together year 11 girls from schools across the North East including Wangaratta, Benalla, Beechworth, Yarrawonga and Rutherglen with mentors in different fields from local businesses.  They also celebrate young leadership with the presentation of the local Young Woman in Public Affairs award.

I went along to this event when I was in year 11 at Wangaratta High School and remember sitting at the Arts and Media table and inspired by the mentors before me.  It was exciting to have a different conversation about career and hear the stories of others who had followed a similar path of leaving our home town and exploring new possibilities.

Earlier this year I received an invitation from the event's co-ordinator Christine Haddrick and was honoured to accept the invitation to speak about my career in creative industry.  I was joined by a fellow guest speak Alyse Holland who spoke about her career in Science Education and outreach programs.
