The Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award is hosted at Flemington Racecourse, which aims to showcase the finest millinery designers who push boundaries and set new standards in headwear.
This year, I designed and created the piece called Full Circle. This red saucer hat, trimmed with flowing crinoline, embodies a journey of growth and return. The spiral stitching traces the maker’s path — beginning in Melbourne, travelling across the world, and finding its way home again. Each loop reflects the experiences, skills, and inspirations collected along the way, woven together in rhythm and motion. The bold red speaks of passion, creativity, and courage — qualities that sustain the maker’s craft.
Full Circle celebrates not only a physical journey but the continual process of learning, evolving, and rediscovering one’s creative centre through the art of millinery.
