Hattember is a competition hosted by Hatters Millinery Supplies and Embellish Atelier. Each entrant is provided with the same supplies for the category they have entered, either Racewear or Wearable Art. The competition raises funds for the John Skipper Kelly (JSK) Fund which creates leadership opportunities for disadvantaged youth.
The challenge is to create a piece out of the bundle of materials sent to you. This included sinamay, star bright braid, petersham ribbon and crionline. All of the materials must be used in the piece in some way.
From the materials in the package I made a sinamay halo shape that frames the face. It is trimmed with a structured bows that has a petersham piped edge with crinoline extension. The back of the bow and halo was finished with the shadowing star bright braid.
Congratulations to the finalists of the competition. You can place your vote of the People’s Choice Award here. Thank you to the Hatters Millinery Supply team and Embellish Atelier for the work in organising Hattember.
